WTV10 Facility

Media Network of Waterford offers state of the art digital equipment to Waterford residents to ensure their programs looks the best they can be.


Media Network uses Mini-DV and DVC Pro digital recording formats.widestudio Waterford residents may check out the Panasonic EZ-30 or the Canon HV20/30 HDV for a period of one day. Depending on availablity the resident may re-check the camera out for shoots that may take more than one day.


Our three-camera production studio is available to Waterford residents to produce their masterpiece. Each show taped in the studio should have a crew of at least five. The producer will be responsible for providing crew on his/her shoot, however, Media Network staff will assist the producer in finding volunteers to fill the gaps.


Our control room has a Tricaster production switcher. The Tricaster is a powerful device that allows usstudiohigh to insert computer graphics, video roll-ins, process green screen shots and allows us to broadcast live on the internet.  Up to four crew members may be needed to operate our control room. In our control room programs are recorded straight onto hard drive media for digital editing or the DVC Pro Digital format.


The edit suite at Media Network of Waterford is state-of-the-art. Our edit suite is a digital non-linear system called Sony Vegas Video Pro 9This edit system allows the user to edit their programs with just like Hollywood. This system is also capable of edit High Definition. Though Media Network does not broadcast in Hi Def, we have found shooting and editing in Hi Def for Standard Def broadcast yields an incredible picture quality. Plus the volunteers television program will be ready for HD Def Blu Ray Discs when the technology becomes more available.


With a Panasonic DVC Pro Digital A/B edit system users are able to produce broadcast qualityvictoria productions with the ease of a linear editor. A Video Toaster 4000 allows users to create stunning computer graphics to spice up their productions.


Media Network takes it on the road with a Mobile Television Production Truck. With a built-in 220v generator, productions can take place anywhere in the communiy. The mobile truck has everything you may need for a television shoot. The mobile truck holds a crew of four. A director, technical switcher, audio engineer and VTR / Replay operator sit in its control room. All of the cameras and audio gear cable are stored in the back.
