On-Air Rules

Posted by Joshua Bowren On July - 16 - 2009

What kind of shows can I broadcast on the
Community Access Channel 10 ?

The freedom of speech is alive and well in community broadcasting ! However, there are a few considerations that must be taken when producing programming.

1. Any shows that are aired on Channel 10 must be in compliance
with all Federal, State and Local laws.

2. Broadcast time is for non-commercial programming only. Therefore the following types of shows will not be aired.

  • Shows designed to promote or sell any type of product and / or service, or that identifies any product, service, or trademark in a way that is not reasonably related to non-commercial use.
  • Solicitation for funds or other items of value for any and all purposes (however, major contributors of grants or aid in the production of a program may be mentioned in a tactful manner, unrelated to the commercial interest of the donor).
  • Programs containing material which is defined as obscene by county law.
  • Promotions for any lottery or gambling enterprise which is in violation of any local laws.
  • Any material which has a reasonable probability of creating an immediate danger to property injury to persons or of creating a public nuisance.
  • Material which has a reasonable probability of causing the substantial obstruction of law enforcement or other governmental functions or services.
Feel free to contact Media Network if you have questions about your specific show idea. 248-682-0401
